On January 23rd we hosted a VIP screening of Restoring Tomorrow at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
Restoring Tomorrow follows the personal journey of Los Angeles-based Howling Wolf Productions co-founder/director Aaron Wolf, as he documents the rise and fall and rise again of L.A.'s oldest Jewish congregation, where his late grandfather, Rabbi Alfred Wolf, served for more than 50 years.
"This has been an extraordinary journey that opened my eyes to what I was missing and I hope opens other eyes as well," Wolf said. "Like many younger adults, I wandered from my religion, and more important, from the place I grew up. On a very personal level, the restoration of Wilshire Boulevard Temple has reconnected me with my faith in community, and my faith in religion; both as a religious practice and as a place of family and tradition. On a much larger scale, the Temple's restoration has dramatically demonstrated what every community can achieve around the globe, if we dig down deep and remember who we are and what we stand for.”
The stars were shining bright as some of LA’s finest made their appearances. Legendary actors Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show, The Paper Chase, TAR) and Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors, Guest House) attended along with esteemed entrepreneur and philanthropist, Eli Broad.
After screening to a packed house, director Aaron Wolf and Wilshire Boulevard Temple Senior Rabbi Steven Leder sat down with legendary film critic, Leonard Maltin, for a lively Q&A.
