Construction on an office space in a Los Angeles neighborhood awakens a mysterious creature who begins to terrorize an unsuspecting group of coworkers.
Stories describing myths of the La Brea tar pits can be traced back thousands of years. Accounts of an odd tar-like creature emerging from the pits eerily haunts the city of Los Angeles, leaving obscurity for the generations to come. Though discovered years ago, this creature is awoken by the construction of a nearby office space. The loud noise disturbs his environment. Zachary, his father, and his friends began to move out of the office space due to the construction.
While cleaning the office, the power turns out, causing friction between the friends. The creature is unknowingly among them as they create a game plan.He tortures them with his verbal presence rather than visual. Searching for answers, the group splits up around the office. One by one, the creature begins attacking members of the group, decreasing their numbers.
Zachary ultimately determines the creature’s weakness. He uses a bright light to distract the creature. Zachary struggles, to conjure up the courage to take the him out. Once the creature sets his eyes on Zach’s family, you can almost see the shift in him. This causes Zach to change at him, killing him instantly.
